đPRAYING THE PROMISES OF THE CROSSđ Day 33â
I Peter 2:8b-10â
Did you ever play dress up as a little girl, wearing a sparkling tiara and pretending you were a pretty princess? Or watch a Disney movie about a young woman who meets her Prince Charming and becomes a real princess, like Cinderella? Or, as an adult, were you excited that the newest member of the British royal family was an âoutsiderâ like you, someone not born into a royal family, but who was accepted into it? Well, your days of make believe as a little girl were not all fiction and we too have been accepted into a royal family like Cinderella and Meghan Markle â through Jesus Christ, the bridgegroom of the church, we are part of Godâs royal priesthood, princesses in our Fatherâs eyes because we are daughters of the King of Kings and joint heirs to the kingdom of Heaven with the Prince of Peace! Thank God for sending a âPrince Charmingâ to rescue us from the snares of sin and bring us into a loving kingdom where we can live âhappily ever after.ââ
â
What an honor it is to be a representative of Godâs kingdom here on Earth, to confidently go before our Fatherâs throne with our prayers and supplications, and to be like another royal woman in the Bible, Queen Esther, and use our position of royalty to help other people in the kingdom.â
â
âReflection Questions: â
1. 1 Peter 2:9 says that we are a âroyal priesthood,â Godâs special possession. What does it mean to be a royal priesthood? â
2. 1 Peter 2:9 also says that God âcalled you out of darkness into His wonderful light.â How has God done this good thing in your life? What transformation can you praise Him for? â
3. How can you live everyday as a member of Godâs family?â
